Well fellow fisherman, I had a visit from the grim reaper yesterday! He came up to me and asked me to go with him. I paused only briefly, looked at him directly and said "you look like you have been busy". He asked me again to go with him. I thought to myself he's asking me...not telling me. I began to evaluate him: disheveled, snaft dry rotted with one handle missing, blade rusting and chipped, clothes covered with debris.I told him I would give him a call when I was ready, he immediately turned into a pile of dust in front me. I noticed that the buckle that holds the blade to the snaft was intact. carefully picking it up i thought i might be able to sell it on e-bay. Then I decided that I could go cut a new ironwood snaft with two handles and weld a nice hand forged high carbon steel blade to it and go reap!! WHOA!! I feel you are all being repelled by this. You must reconsider that as a fisherman those who would not see me would be the ones who love this ball of water we live on. Catch and release, eat what you kill, keep the f*&%ing place clean. If you run out of bait or catch your your bucket list fish you could always summon me and I would respond if you were ready to go. Polluters BE AWARE!!

been using braided line for years two knots that work well (mono to braid) are the double uni and the barrel knot. Just make sure to have more turns on the braid than on the mono.

been there.. natural one that works pretty good is snickers bites. rodents are allergic to chocolate but don't know that so they go for the peanuts and get sick as hell... won't come back to that spot

lay the line in the groove (small end for small hook larger end for larger hook) pin it with your thumb then pull the line to get you to the hook. once you have reached the hook push in a little and rotate the remover, should easily release the hook, great tool for removing gut hooked fish without killing them.

because it's a boat rod I'd go with the shimano SE 4000 with 30# braid . great rod for trolling deep.
