More trophy trout have been caught in the North Branch of the Potomac river than any other water in MD. Fishing below the Randolph-Jennigs dam has always produced as the flows are usually good. There is some good "roadside" fishing there if you don't plan on wading.
The Savage, Casselman, and the Youghiogheny rivers all produce.

Guy,
In Western Maryland and West Virginia you have miles and miles of rivers to fish without ever seeing anyone. I've been in the middle of rivers fishing and after looking at my watch realize I've been there for over an hour fishing peacefully!
You guys really need to get out there and enjoy beauty in the wilderness...
I'm here for info...
SANDCRAB
I do a lot of trout fishing in Western Maryland.
Glad everyone enjoyed them!
I will probably be making another trip out there this Fall. Got a couple more trips to PA and Ontario lined up.
Keep fishing
Thanks. I love going out there.
Spent a week in Western Maryland fishing the Casselman, Savage, Youghiogheny, and the North Branch of the Potomac rivers. His flows made fishing tough but fish were caught.
Northern Delaware lifestyle is considered too fast!
Good for springtime crappies. I'd rather fish other LSD ponds...
Real tough pond to fish. Lots of pressure from NJ, PA, and DE anglers
Remember when fishing the inlet at night with lures:
Dark colors for dark nights,
white colors for nights with a full moon
I try to time my Inlet fishing with the tide and sunrise and it seems to work out good.
