I fully intend to be there . I will be in the Campground on site 13 to sleep ?? It was a blast last year and meeting a bunch of the guy's for the first time was great.
Will you be attending?

Belated thanks to everyone who responded. It has been an eventful week and I was unable to respond individually.

I decided to go with the known and put the name brand Power Pro Depth Hunter metered line back on my reel. I appreciate the insights that everyone had on the line and TEMU. Your feedback was appreciated and helped my decision. Thank you again.

You're welcome " That's what We do" πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—.
This is a fine bunch who love to share! I'm proud to be apart of this stage! Good luck with the new line and show us some pics of the catches. πŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ™

Butch you better just try the 🐸 frog and leave the cigar to Andy buddy πŸ˜‚πŸŽ£

They do have there moments( cigars) . One time last summer the wind blew my braid back in my face after a catch while the line was loose and while trying to weigh a fish and the line hit mt cigar and it burned thru which resulted in about 8 feet of line gone and having to restring my rod. "Just sayn'" . A fellow's gotta be careful out there!!! πŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ™

Got a few today , I think I got just as many to the yac and they did a self release. They were hitting very soft in this wind, just little slurps not really any blow ups. But it's coming my pad field has shoots just breaking the water. Won't be long now!!! Got 6 for the day. πŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ™

Did a bit of fishing on one of the local waters before the really wet cool weather moves in today. Landed 10 bass to 16”, several crappies and a bunch of rockets, lost a pretty decent bass right at the shore. Nothing all that big but still tons of fun on a 6.5 micro lite.

Great job bk, nice looking bunch of fish. Little cold and windy on my side of the state. I'll put up my day soon! πŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ™

I know that this has been discussed before but I am replacing the line on my reel. I have had Power Pro on it for probably close to 10 years. I sent the reel for service and removed the line. I was amazed how good of condition it still was so I put it on an inshore reel.

I’m open to suggestions for brands and retailers. I seem to remember that some of you have tried TEMU and were not disappointed. Their prices certainly are attractive.

Thanks.

I use Power Pro in green for my frog rods , I get it at Walmart bout $ 14:00 for 30' 40' and 50# braid the 65# is up around $ 18:00 . I use 40 and 50# this year and since I'm fishing heavy pads every time out I reverse it on the reel in about a months time. It's strong and cuts thru pads well . Don't really mess with it on spinning reels except for the fall and I just spool on used 40# and run a mono leader of 6# for perch and Crappie. I did get a spool of Temu 40# 8 strand bright green and have it on a backup reel that I just put into use. It's very supple and soft yet feels good to cast. Jury still out on that. Don't remember what kind it was but it was very inexpensive. πŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ™

Good morning to all. 65* right now and going into the mid 80s. A quick shower about now then clearing out for the rest of the day. Should be a good day to get the rest of the tomatoes planted.
Brother Bob is on the beach and he's catching fish. I'm home and planting a garden or two. There's something wrong with this picture.😁😁

Another fine day for you in the books Andy, I caught a bunch of pickerel, 2 smallish bass and a pretty nice crappie swimming paddle tails.

Good day for you too , nothing beats getting out catching. The season is in full swing now and as soon as my pads fully form into definite shapes the big uns will take up residency . Can't wait for that!!! πŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ™

Got to Red Cross launch this morning about 9 am , tried the patches of pads first and nothing so I started to fish the shore line and Bingo that's where they were today . NNW wind had it's moments but fairly light compared to what we've been getting. First one 2&1/2 pounder second one a little over 3# and I quit weighing after that. Surprise !!!! πŸŽ‰ I caught my first Rock bass on a frog, this fish was really pretty sorry my camera didn't do it justice. Finished off with the " Little Black Frog" tied on at 3 and headed for home. Grass to mowπŸ₯΄πŸ₯΄πŸ₯΄ more like a hay field!!! Won't get out for next 3 days ( work)
Probably have to get retrained to learn how to fish missing that much time. My 3# er trashed my Lews KVD 8:1 to 1 reel it had been making noise when I went to Rip Lips this year , drag is a tight as it goes. This time it dack clicked 3 times in a row so I beached and switched it out with a cheapie 8:3 to 1 from Temu not as smooth but when I Ripped the next sets of lips she held fast. Always something to make things interesting around my days fishing. πŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ™

The wind died down here in late afternoon and around 4 pm I headed out for Edinboro Lake. Got there and a big dark cloud was hovering real close. By the time I got on the water and about a quarter mile up to the pads all heck broke loose so there I sat hunkered down under my big golf umbrella ( save the cigar) . This lasted about 20-25 minutes so as soon as it broke I started casting away. I was using a big popper that I don't usually use and nothing was even making an attempt so I switched to my lighter pole with my Booyah jr. Popper .
A few cast later in an isolated patch of pads this bass shot up thru some matted crap came completely out of the water and choked my frog . No trouble getting her in 4.56 #s . And just to show I'm not prejudice on how big a Bass has to be to get a pic of , well my second bass was really small. That was it for the day wind picked up again and dark thirty rolled on the lake. I'll take it for a few hrs of frogn' in nasty weather. Sorry bout the pics something going on when I upload to my phone???????? πŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ™

I just got back from a week with Jim Sargent and Cindy Harvey at Lake Powell. Of the five days I was there we fished three. Between us we boated 102 fish, mostly smallmouth, we caught some small largemouth, I caught a walleye and Jim caught a dessert plate sized bluegill. We didn’t land any monster sized fish but the time on the water and the ferocity of the fighting smallies is just heart pumping fun!!! I have been blessed to have such friends as this.

Like fishn' in a western movie. Looks like you Guys had a blast. Good for you!!! πŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ™

Son Gregg and I headed to one of the local waters for a bit this morning. We each caught 3 smallish bass and quite a few pickerel swimming 4” Keitech’s. We both lost a decent bass right at the bank, both looked to be a bit better than those we landed, maybe 2 and 1/4# or so. Tradition that we get out and fish on my birthday and make sure not to catch the skunk 🦨. The mallard pictured had 12 ducklings about a week ago but must have lost 2 to attrition of some sort. Got this card from my BIL, thought it was quite appropriate.

Love to see ya out in the rain my friend, fish don't care if it's raining but there sure seems to be a lot more elbow room as the crowd disperses quick. Just more fish for us πŸ€ͺ. Fish on just keep an eye on the sky for the thunder/ Bolts. That's when I beach and wait it out. Keep on fishn'.πŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ™

Got to the launch about 9 , the place was already a zoo. And I expected nothing less for a Saturday. My first fish came pretty quickly then I had to go hunting, not for fish but for a place that no one was . Lost a few today also ended up with 9 . I was throwing a black popping frog for most and I don't know what brand it is but it has awesome hooks. πŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ™

Nice fish , but I'm NOT a fan of fishin in the rain either. I woulda been one of the boats that was leavin... Unless it was a light rain and the fish were bitin.

I don't mind the cold or rain if the wind isn't howling . If it is I'm not going. It was warm enough to be comfortable so the rain is no problem , I put a baggie over mt camera phone to keep it dry . πŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ™
