Snakehead goes for $16 a pound at DC fish market I hear
How many do you keep? Are you eating them the same day?
Top and bottom rig, fishbite or bloodworm on top, minnow on the bottom
My buddy John has the hot hook! Another nice sheepshead! East side of the Chesapeake
No, it was pretty slow. Got two keepers between 3 of us
High low rig, 3/0 circle hook, appropriate weight, squid, lugworm, bloodworm, shrimp, minnow, fishbite...pretty much catch anything.
That's the man! We had an absolutely great day fishing with Capt. Jim and his 1st mate Ronnie. Tell em we sent you!
Mike
Chartered with Capt Jim down at the inlet. Great trip!
We were at the rail cars about 5 miles out
Can't remember when I caught a flounder like this
I didn't catch it...a friend of mine did. That's a throwback since it's outside the slot, but man I bet it was a battle!
A friend of mine sent this picture from the west shore of the Chesapeake bay...thought I'd share
Don't know about flatheads...I think they like the fresher water and I mostly fish brackish and salt.
That being said, the Rappahannock and Potomac are loaded with eating sized blue catfish. I harvest 2-5 lbers for eating with hush puppies. Piles of em up around Port Royal (there's a pier there) and Colonial Beach (also a pier). Cut bait, squid seem to work real well.
Tight lines and following seas!
Looks relaxing...and BAM!
Fishing is described as long periods of boredom interspersed with moments of sheer panic...
