Any of you fished Caddo? My plan is Bass and Bluegills around the cypress trees but would like a good place to start.

Yesterday (May,8th,2022) was one of the BEST fishing days I have ever had. Three of us went peacock bass fishing in the Everglades and KILLED THEM!!! Each of us boated 30 fish in 3 hours. Peacock, Saklads, Oscars, and Largemouth Bass. At times all three of us had fish on. So until the water level goes up and the fish move out to the edge of the canals the bite will be on.

Wow!! What a day !! Congrats !!

Welcome to Stage. Lots of excellent lakes to fish in your area. Been crazy wind this year. I fish mainly Wright Patman, when the wind stops, and Caddo Lake. Have plans to fish Lake of the Pines. I heard a fellow caught 5 bass for a total of over 35lbs. That was a few weeks ago.
Good Luck fishing!

Welcome to Stage !! I have fished Lake D'arborne but it was years ago. Caught bass fly fishing, plus a few bluegills along they way. I can't remember where exactly where but it was about this time of year. I know it was off Highway 2.
Good luck and keep us posted and with pictures. :-)

Many Many years ago my Uncle Bob(Bay St. Louis) and friends use to set out nets to catch and sell reds or anything they caught to market. One night they had some many reds they could hardly bring the nets in, he said it was the only time he had seen that kind of catch. This would have been in 1930's. I'm from Natchez and never had a chance to fish the coast, I moved away in 1970.
Do the trout move in there too? Which do you prefer to eat?
