Spiritof27, where do you get your 2 lb braid? Never seen such a thing.
Take a "blue fox" for instance. It has a large blade that spins around the body of the lure. Would a swivel, snapped directly to the lure, not spin slightly with the lure slowing down the spinning blade action?
Three fishermen were fishing when they came upon a mermaid. The mermaid offered them one wish each. The first fisherman said, “Double my I.Q.”
So, the mermaid did it and to his surprise, he started reciting Shakespeare. Then the second fisherman said, “Triple my I.Q.”
And sure enough the mermaid did it and amazingly he started doing math problems he didn’t know existed.
The third fisherman was so impressed he asked the mermaid to quadruple his I.Q. and the mermaid said, “Are you sure about this? It will change your whole life!”
The fisherman said “Yes”
So, the mermaid turned him into a woman.
Not necessarily worried about line twist but concerned about the ACTION of the lure ( for instance a kastmaster) when you hook a swivel directly to the lure. Does the swivel not impede the lure action?
Kastmaster comes with a split ring. Is it best to tie directly to split ring or use a snap swivel?
I like to use spinning gear when still fishing with bait. But i prefer a bait casting rig for casting lures. It took practice to become proficient with a bait caster but once I got it down I found it to be much more enjoyable than a spinning reel.
I'm not a fly fisher but i remember catching a duck years ago on my spinning rig. Can't remember what lure i was using. It was not a pleasant experience.
How do you put soft and mushy dough bait on your hook. It just seems to smear everywhere and doesn't stay on.
