Took my buddy fishing last week at Bartlett but we just had two dinks. Got him back on Saguaro today to see if we could do any better. He out fished me. Check this one out. Catch of a lifetime! 10.4 lbs.

Wow, that’s wall mount worthy. Congrats on a super nice catch

Thank You, trout are beautiful fish. I think sometimes location can have a factor in what shape the fish are in

Kangaroo lake is east of Weed and has really gotten busy with it being advertised in the bay area. We used to fish it and naybe see 5-6 others and now it can be as busy as no parkiong areas left.....

Fall is the best time to go when vacation season is over n kids r in school.

Thanks for the info. I’ll be looking in to the campground. Never heard of kangaroo lake I’ll check that out too.

Beautiful mountain lake, worth the drive n always good fishing. Small lake n kayaks r allowed. Often u will c a bald eagle catch a trout when the lake is stocked up. They have a fish cleaning station, day use free picnic tables n small campground. Pm me if u go up there

I fished the Dunsmuir area once a very long time ago. Is the camp a dry camp or does it have hookups. I might have to check it out. Not very far for either of us.

Also railroad park has a nice restaurant there which is in an actual train car. Pretty nice n good food

Fully facilitated for rv and tent camping. It’s a nice campground. Office sells ice n firewood. Showers n flushing restroom just recently got renovated. rrpark.com
I’ll home base there n travel to hat creek area and kangaroo lake. Both r 1 hr from campground but u can expect good fishing from both locations plus upper sac minutes away

The upper Sac is fun. Been awhile since I’ve fished it but have drifted it many times and always caught a lot of fish. And you’re right, bigger fish in the fall. I’ve got a 12.5 lb on my wall from Baum. A lot of 5 - 6 pounders over the years.

12.5 is one fat fish for sure, congrats . Love upper sac in Dunsmuir. I usually camp at railroad park right next to Dunsmuir. Real nice campground with good facilities and perfectly located for all my needs.

You had a great day! I’ve been fishing that lake since I was a kid and make it up there every year in the fall. Glad you’re over your surgery and back catching!

Amen to that. Fall fishing is my favorite time of the year to fish up here n upper sac river n vicinity. Less people, great weather, n often find bigger fish

PM me when you're heading up. Might be able to meet up with you and share some of my fly techniques with you.

Sounds good, I’m not a fly fisherman except for occasional fly n bobber type fishing. But fishing talk is all good. Might get up there end of May. Thx
