Is Jackson Reservoir Iced out yet?
What kinds of fish are in Jackson Reservoir. Heading out in August for a family wedding. Thought I would spend an extra couple of days and try my luck. The last time I fished in Colorado was when I lived there for 4 years. Fished Grand Lak in the early 60s. I Caught Kokanee Salmon when they would school by the thousands.
I know that they fish for walleyes at Turner's Falls. I do not know if it is the lake or the discharge area from the Dam.
I have learned it is possible to catch winter flounder from shore. Does anyone have success in Hull, Scituate, or Quincy shoreline, fishing for Winter Flounder? Is Nantasket Beach a good place to try? What type of rig and setup to use? Jigs, Bait, Jigs with bait? 71 years old, not physically able to keep walking and wading up and down the shoreline.
HELP PLEASE?
Thanks
Bill
I was going out shark fishing, Point Judith, RI. Buddy said lets jig for some bait, the whitefish are in. Were jigging in about 80' of water. My friend standing 5 feet away thought he was snaged on bottom. Nope, the rod was almost pulled from his hand and the drag was spinning hot. He put his thumb on the spool to slow it down. Wrong idea, huge friction burn blister on that thumb. We thought it may have been a tuna, anyways, he got spooled. I often wonder what damage, if any 450 yards of 30# braid did in the water.
I have a 15 foot Boston Whaler. Hoping to give it a try.
Fish 2 hours before high tide, 2 hours outgoing tide. Walk the beach look at wave action Early (sunrise) and evening tide changes.
It looks like a Yozuri lure.
I will check the RUNCL reels. I just purchased RUNCL boot waders at a very reasonable cost. I hope I did not make mistake.
I shore fish and surf cast too. It has been very challenging around Hull, Quincy and Scituate.
I have been skunked too many times fishing from shore Hull Gut, Quincy Bay, Hingham Harbor, Back River, Weir River, Too much walking for my 70 year old knees. Picked up a 15 foot Boston Whaler. Any suggestions?
Back in the 70s my brother and I fished (and drank) the Genesee. We caught some ENORMOUS salmon. I am talking 30 to 40 lbs each. It was the first time for my brother to fish for these beasts. Every time we hooked up he squealed like a pig in Deliverance. Amazing memories. We are in our 70s now. Do not know if we could handle the excitement.
Send a picture when installed. I have felt your pain.
It has been a while since I fished the Genesee River. When I did, I used long spoons about 3 to 6 feet behind a flasher. On a downrigger, 75 to 100 feet of line out. Depth determined by what id being marked. Rember fish will swim up to a lure but not down.
I do not know myself, but I hear NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is an expert on air pressure, regardless of the science. (giggle, giggle)
Have not seen any comments from prospect CT. have gone back in history too.
