Thanks everyone!
I absolutely love the Ultralight fishing, I use a 7'6" Okuma Guide Select Pro, my dad and I land steelhead up to around 8-10lbs on them every season, absolutely blast!!

Weather was terrible, blowing hard and rain/hail intermittently only fished about 20mins
Went to a local pond here in town, usually good for a few dozen large mouth, 13 to 15 inches maybe
Today I only caught one and it was decent
As always on the ultralight setup

Also I talked with my boss, he was mistaken, they will pay my insurance premiums for me and my family. So no monthly insurance payments once I get promoted to foreman!

Thanks everyone, I really enjoy working in the trades, have my whole life and have always been the hardest working guy on the crew
I also have a brain, and know how to use it which is rare of people my age, it feels awesome to finally be appreciate for the work I am capable of
My boss had a goal of 45 services a week, and he left for a week, I was supposed to work tomorrow but unable to (my guy with the certifications is leaving and I can't complete mine till boss is back), I hit 56 services today and only had 7 hours to work today
So maybe 46 hours total this week to hit 56
He estimated 45 to 50 services in a 55 to 60 hour week
I think I can do 15 a day for 6 days a week but the guy brought it while he was away made a lot of excuses to work shorter hours and slowed down my efficiency quite a bit
I feel pretty good about hitting 56 with him in charge

Well guys and gals after leading an insulation crew for the last 4 years I have started a new adventure
I am an apprentice pipe fitter, running gas lines but will also train in HVAC and plumbing. In my first month I have passed 22 OQs with 100% and getting promoted to foreman in the next 2 weeks.
I am very excited, being from a prettt rural area this is by far the best opportunity I have ever had.
They offered a generous starting wage for someone without any experience in gas piping at all, matching 401k, full benefit package, company vehicle, pretty much the works, and when I get the promotion, they'll pay 100% of my insurance deductibles for the whole family!!
Just wanted to share my excitement with all of you
Thanks

Hey thanks everybody!!
It was a very fun and rewarding day, I will definitely try to take more pictures next time
This place is unbelievable really, I usually catch between 40 and 60 bass every hour an half without even moving spots, I'd say I usually get to 20 or so then the holes blown up, but about 20mins of not fishing (or maybe using a bottom rig for carp or catfish) and the hole restocks, sometimes I can catch as many as 35 or 40 before it's blown up and after a few rounds of rest and reset, my arms blown out and done for the day
My new job makes my arms pretty sore, hopefully one day I'll have the oomph to really rest the limits of the bass paradise
Here's a pic from last fall when I first discovered this place

Had a decent day at the honey hole
Probably 25 or 30 bass in a couple hours
Mostly in the 2.5 to 3lb range, a few smaller and 2 nice ones around 4lbs.
Always a blast on ultralight gear, in the current (fishing a pool below a waterfall with swift current streams the bass stack up in)
All fish caught on a drop shot setup using Zman 3" minnowz, in Smelt one of my all time favorite color/lure combos, anywhere I fish, anytime of year it always produces!
Few pics when the rain slowed and I landed one at the same time

Sorry I don't have the answer, but I too would love to know!

Do you fish there often? I have a few questions if you don't mind?

Happy to see increasing numbers of fishermen using barbless hooks to protect fish being released!! Thanks to all who do it voluntarily!!

I agree!
If you can't land fish with a barless hook, you should practice how to fight a fish. Use your drag and rod bend to help control the fish and allow firm pressure throughout the fight.
I almost always fish barbless regardless of species and honestly don't see a difference in my hookup ratio or my hookup to land ratio, they seem to stay pinned just fine

Hey everyone, happy Easter and I’m looking for tips on catfishing Brownlee Reservoir on the snake river

This is a 20 pound flathead, caught in Brownlee Reservoir last summer, my younger brother landed it and is featured in the picture, it was an awesome fight, on his 9'6" Medium Light, probably about half an hour to land.

These are some of my favorites
Trout patterns seems to do really well here, also silver with black back as shown
Some of the more wild looking colors were hard to buy and try out but have become very successful patterns to fish for me
Hope this helps!
