Eye protection is another big reason. I just purchased prescription WileyX sunglasses which are impact resistant. I just read a story about a guy who got a big fish on the line and the lure popped loose and ended up in the fisherman's eye lid and he fell off his boat. To make matters worst he didn't have a life jacket on. Luckily some other boaters helped him and his eye is going to be ok. I highly recommend the WileyX glasses.
Sorry to hear that news Ben. Dogs are always happy to see you and make great friends. I had a great one and said I wasn't going to get another but after a while my family talked me into another dog and it was the right time. You'll know when it's time. They are all different and special in their own ways. I'm sure you'll hold onto some great memories.

That Bear Hair Jig looks great. I've never heard of using bear hair. It looks like it would keep a full look in the water.
