I caught an American Flag and flag pole while fishing near Hayward, WI. The flag pole is now standing straight and the flag flying at the resort I was staying at. No idea where it came from.

I have used the Aqua View for ice fishing and fishing lakes in the summer. They work amazing if you are within 4-6 ft. of the target. I first had a Cabela’s brand which was black and white, but had the same issue. I would not suggest for river fishing as the water clarity is usually very stained/murky from the sand and current.

Mornin’ all, 54 now, maybe 57 later. That’s about it until mid next week. Time will tell as to how it will affect the turkeys. The fish will have to wait for a few weeks.
Have a great day all.

OJ,
Hope you have success with turkey hunting. My son and I both got birds. I had first season, which was tough and my son had second season which seemed as though the birds were gobbling more.

They can be jigged, casted and used with a slip bobber. I use them all the time and swear by them.

Trout Magnets by Leland Lures work great for panfish. I use the neon colors along with the regular colors. Use the 1/64 Trout Magnet jig head. All can be purchased direct from Leland lures. Bodies are $4.99 for 50 and the jig heads are about $7.00 for 25. I usually buy the gold jig heads.

I have used trout magnets for years while fishing trout, crappies and blue gills. I’ve never had a gut hook issue with any of them.

I would agree with OJ, as the 26-32 inch fish are best. Wisconsin has a 26 inch minimum in the southern part of the state and no minimum length up north. Be aware of the regulations in the waters you fish. I fillet mine and they are excellent table fare. I normally keep them while ice fishing or cooler water temps. Throw them on ice ASAP.

Crappies will be moving from deeper water to shallow basins or weed lines for the spawning season. Water temps of 58 to 65 degrees will increase the spawn activity. Minnows, small jigs under a float or cast and retrieve small jigs will usually work. Good luck and tight lines.
