Thank you for making the call. That's why Leo's are there - for folks to call....
My AG rods, VERITAS, are the best. I fish mostly inshore species, Specs & Reds. Strippers soon. All rods are 7'6" medium heavy to 8' heavy. The length provides extra distance in open waters and the rod weight handles 35-40" Reds...
I believe Abu Garcia is going to be your BEST BET. Check drag pressure on all name brand reels and you'll see AG tops all of 'em compared to reel size and cost. I've used 6 AGs for the past 8-10 years. The former AG Revo Inshore was $249.00 with 22-lbs drag. MGX-2 w/ 18lbs drag and I cast 3/8 oz 17MR. All Revo in the $200-300 range will handle up to 2oz fine. Their 50 & 60 series reels even heavier. ALL MINE ARE LOW PROFILE!!!
??? If ur in FWB, the entire ICW is marked mostly with channel markers on posts especially between FWB and Destin, throughout Choctawhatchee Bay, through the Destin Pass, and on to the Narrows. So, "FISH THIS WAY?"
Art is a GREAT American. I've known him for years. He lives in TN now...
Yea, those look like good eats. WAY down here in NW FL, we have Spotted Sea Trout (Specs) and a saltwater White Troup - both are favorite table fare for me. Does the name Art Veseth ring a bell?
Well, I see quite a few channel markers that are mounted on posts and I do see a lot of marker bouys as well...
From the FL panhandle. If that spoon doesn't work out for you (I've had excellent luck with gold and silver spoons for Reds in Winter), tie on a LOUD top water bait like a large Chug Bug or a One-knocker Spook and hard walk either in early mornings, preferably before sun up...
AM - thx for the note. Although didn't become an Airman, but certainly worked with many of 'em while in Germany. The 7025th Air Postal Squadron was my USAFE counterpart...
