Recommend Dave Whitlock’s book LL Bean Fly Fishing Handbook. Everything you need to know for fly fishing is in that book.
If your a fly fisherman then why not.
Nebraska does the same and just another opportunity to go fishing. A 3 wt and some size 16 prince nymphs was the answer this year. Stocked trout can be picky but who cares next day small black woolly buggers might be the answer.
There is a lot of questions to answer: what’s your target fish, that determines your fly rod weight, amount of times you plan on fishing with a fly rod, quality reels do make a difference it’s called drag a good set up can handle a good fish. Start out with an inexpensive set up then if you like fly fishing it can go from there. Such as a 3 wt, 2 5 wts, 6 wt (main rod) 7wt, 8 wt, 9wt and a 10 wt. first two are for panfish & trout,
6 & 7 wt for bass, catfish trophy trout, 8, 9 & 10 pike, master angler bass, and ocean fishing when I can.
