Hey and good morning... Red drum are starting to run out here in Gods country. Size is slot limit 16-23” can keep 2per, flounder limit is 10 and 15” minimum, black drum is slotted at 15”-27” limit 5. Whiting, croaker, and spots are a total bag of 50 per person. Bait shrimp works the best for all of these species except flounder, for these use love mud minnows...... good luck..... also when fishing on the beach, look for the heaviest deposit of sea shells on the beach and fish there.... let’s us know what you catch

Ya I’ve fished cherry grove. You can catch flounder at the park on 53rd Ave with mud minnows on flounder rigs. Appachi is best though. Fish right passed the pavilion on the left. We also catch a bunch of big black drum fishing straight down on the piling with fresh ghost crabs, or flounder with mud minnows. Our crab fiddler crabs and you can catch a sheepshead every once in a while. But cast out your double rigs, and the spots, croaker, and whiting are absolutely delicious. Limit is a mic bag of all 3 which is a limit of 50 per person. In the past 2 years, my girlfriend and I have double limited over 27 times!!!!

Hi
I’ve been in SC for 5 yrs now and only been out fishing maybe4 times and haven’t caught a thing! I’ve tried fresh scrimp and minnows. Nothing. I don’t know if I’m using the wrong hooks or what. I’m going to start going in Cherry Grove. Someone please tell me what to use.!

Hey. We do a good bit of power fishing when we’re not offshore... for spots starting next month, whiting, croaker, and pompano use a size 6 hook on double bottom rigs with 4oz triangle weights. As far as bait, bloodworms work great with spots and whiting, but you’ll catch all 4 species with the frozen shrimp you get at Walmart in the plastic 8oz containers in bait section. I say this because a lot of people will buy frozen shrimp in edible and those come from China where they use chems on the shrimp. Good luck... also, Appachi pier is where we go
