Got a chance to go after some blue-gills today,72 and windy better than snow flurries we had over the weekend,Had hard time getting them to hit wax worm but noticed they where working the top eating what we always called water bugs, wind gusts would blow them into the water and fish would smack them…this was the best I could come up with and managed to catch a few nice fish, not a fly angler but my ? is what is a match the hatch for a “water bug” my orange spider is dry rotted and legless
How about a fruit fly, mosquitoes, butterfly, or even a baby birdie that fell out of nest and is drowning. Yes, they maķe the baby birdie lure.
