Yeah Cat, Times have sure changed. I'm hoping that we can at least begin to turn the corner and begin some restoration of a societal recovery in '24. It's not hopeless, but it's gotta start soon, before the Snowflakes dig in too deep to defeat. Their opposition, US, is aging away to nothing fast, and we need to mentor some newbies to carry on any improvements on their own. Kids.like your grandson can be salvaged, but there's a big job ahead. I feel so badly that his youth and innocence as well as his possible future have been so profoundly damaged.

Thank God home schooling is still an option but they’re trying to prohibit THAT now.🤔 I wonder why. We work with our grandkids on a daily basis and 11 of our 16 grandkids are home schooled now. What a difference that has made on their outlook on life. The schools are not good old “three R” learning facilities any more. They’re nothing more than federal indoctrination camps. If I had kids school age you can bet they’d be home schooled for sure. My boss’s daughter in law is a teacher at the high school here in Riggins. Has been for 15 years now. She will NOT allow her kids (three of them) to attend the school here now. They’re home schooled and doing great. She is forced to teach the federal curriculum during the day and teach ethical and sensical learning at home but she’s doing it and her kids are doing awesome. The two girls KNOW they’re girls and the boy KNOWS he’s a boy too👍

I have a new lawrance hook 7 fish finder. It works great in shallow water. Not in deep water, 500feet.
It is worthless salmon fishing in the Straits of Juan de Fuca.
Any ideas are appreciated.

Man! That’s deep for salmon. I fish a bunch for king salmon in Alaska. They’re at 18 to 30 feet in 900 feet of water. Must be a huge difference in water temps there I’ll bet. I’ve been 130 miles off the Oregon coast halibut fishing numerous times in 800 to 1000 feet of water. The salmon there are no deeper than 60 feet. 80 miles off the coast is 900 feet where we drift for halibut and we see tons of salmon from 30 to 60 feet.

Tough break for them, sometimes a person can have an adverse reaction to something that only affects them and another tiny group. But, there was little time available for the usual animal studies, double blind Human trials and the like. It's not going away, so lets hope that we are learning from our follies. One thing for sure : Dr. F is lucky he's a virologist, as a brain surgeon, no insurance carrier would touch him with a ten foot pole.

That’s very true. With all of the, intentional, destruction they’re dumping on us and blaming it all on someone else. it’s a good thing a lot of us are strong enough and healthy enough to trudge through it all. It’s very disheartening now that our own country is the cause of its own destruction. Bleak outlook for the future of our children and grandchildren but I stay positive with all of them and just remind them we will get through this. My 7 year old grandson told me “you’re lucky. I’ll never live long enough to see your age”. I asked him where he learned that and he said “that’s just the way the world is now. They’re trying to get rid of us all.” He’s 7🤨🤯. I tried to assure him that wasn’t the case and to just think positive. He asked “what for?” I told him that most of what he’s learning will, hopefully, never come true but we should all have a positive attitude and just do the best we can and enjoy our lives to the fullest while we’re here. Pretty scary to have a conversation like that with a 7 year old. When I was seven all I thought about was being outside getting dirty and catching frogs and snakes. Times have sure changed and I really wish I could say for the better but that’s not what’s happening. 😏. I’m, constantly, praying for a positive change in 2024🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Well huntin season is always somethin to look forward to anyway. 🤠👍

Yup and now that I’ve been here a little while I know lots of good places to go👍. Where there’s not Oregon deer hunters behind every tree scaring all the elk off.👌

Did you order an extra impeller? I used to keep a couple on hand since they are inexpensive and sometimes hard to get. Good luck on your elk hunting. My neighbors are hunting out of Riggins again this year. Getting tough to draw for elk in the area they hunt.

Yup. Ordered two so I’d have a spare for sure. My boat is a 2000 model and this is the first impeller replacement but ya just never know.
They must be hunting the east side of the big Salmon River. Area 14. That’s a great place for big bulls but you’re right. Hard to draw. They can buy bull tags over the counter in area 23 just across the River. Not as good but there’s some great bulls in 23. We took two over 380” last year in 23. Most were 320ish bulls but good ones. Good luck to them. We’ve got lots of big bulls this year. Big mule deer too.👍

No fishing till next year, bummer

Well fishing out of my boat anyway. I’ll do some fall fishing from the bank down on the Snake River for bass and trout and more ice fishing in December but the good fishing from my boat is over for this year. I can, usually fish from it till the end of September if I’m not hunting but we’ve got lots of hunters coming this year so🤷‍♂️. It’s back to full time fishing for me next year though👍👍👍

Forgot to mention that I saw bout a 3 foot sturgeon come up to the back corner of the boat kinda checkin out my lure right as I was liftin it out of the water. He turned right at the back corner and went under the motor. Pretty cool.

I’ve had sturgeon hit swim baits and tubes on the move Steve. When they do you got your work cut out for ya for a little while.

So I spent the morning emailing Fish USA about my kayak supplier holes and their stress cracks on two of them . Got to the point of getting full credit for my Yack and up grading to a SS127 from the RS117. I paid the difference and presto I now have a new yac . So once home and my stuff installed on it I decided to take it to the lake and put some water under it to try it out . First fish 3.1# and here we go 11more fish on the day ,a good 3#9 and some nice 2+#ers. Guess the yac's going to work ok? Not crazy about the color gun metal grey but that's all they had left till next April. So grey it is. Here's some pics of the day
