They all were easier than the Marlin. Joe the guy that fought Marlin is in the best shape of us all and his left arm was 6” longer when he was done!!

Lol, did the marlin jump much?

Where's San V ? If you don't mined me asking

San Vincente Reservoir, Down by Poway/Lakeside area. It is about a hour and twenty minute drive from Temecula. Good size lake and usually catch a lot of fish.

Went back to SanV today with Larry (FishNRods) to try to match my last outing with Tyler. Came close with a total of 16 fish, mostly between 1-2.5lbs. Just guessing, but would say we are probably the oldest duo fishing together. Combined age of just under 160 years............and we are still catching!! Doing a lot better there than my local lakes to the north.
Nice catch!
I have t fished San V yet but expect to soon.
It’s in my area.

Best day to fish there is Monday, fishing only on that day and no annoying pleasure boaters. And the lake is closed Tues & Wed. Might send you a PM in the future and take you with me Steven

Looks like the travel was worth the effort and you two had a good outing. Great to see. Thanks for all the updates.

At this point, it is a lot better catching more decent fish there as the lakes up by me just aren't producing much.

I'm at dvl most every weekend, work all weekdays.
Saw your post and knew it was happening, just didn't realize how thick it was.

Never fish the weekends there, way to crowded. Not worth it when the algae gets that bad. You ever fish Perris?

Final post of the trip, I got some of the many videos down to a file size I can post. They will give you an idea of some of the fights, landings and how we caught our own live bait. Since I did most of the photos and videos of our trip and we split into 2 boats, I and others are not in any of them, but all 6 of us had our share of fighting and “catching”!

Great videos Denny and just an awesome trip. I would take a wild guess and say that a few of those bigger yellows were an easier fight than the marlin. Especially if the marlin jumped a few times.

Sounds like a great day at San v
Beats the heck out of an algae filled DVL

Thanks X, too bad you didn't catch my post from a couple of weeks ago. I warned about the algae there. Plus, just catching babies at Skinner. So, even though a longer drive, it was SanV.

Yesterday I got 3 at dawn and 3 at dusk. Incredible wildlife in between. A bobcat joined me for breakfast during my morning fish. Watched a bighorn sheep graze on leafy greens and saw tons of cranes and water fowl. Nature is so beautiful. Happy Mother's day to all those fishermoms!

Great pics! Which lake were you at?
