I'm across the Bay in Clearwater. I've seen Salt Strong decals on the back windows of vehicles. Never knew what they're about.

Well, I guess I was missed. Several wrote private messages inquiring about me and what had happened. Saturday a week ago, I got up around 2:00 to go to the bathroom. When back in bed, I felt a terrific
Pressure on my chest, sorta like an elephant had stepped on me!

Since I could not rest lying flat, I went to my den and sat in my adjustable chair until my wife woke up around 7:00. We decided that it might be serious so she drove me back to the hospital. This began
a marathon of tests, and gallons of blood being drawn. While in the emergency room they decided it was not caused by a heart attack.

Over the entire weekend there were a multitude of other tests, and the conclusion was it was a reaction to my heart having the electrode’s place on the heart wall. Over time into even Monday, the pain slowly subsided, and I came home Monday afternoon. I am still weak but can manage on my own pretty well.

Now, for the rest of my silence. For some reason my laptop refused to boot. I called an old friend and computer guru in Houston, but nothing seemed to work. I finally was able to trick it into letting me in a back door. It was then I realized for some reason the place we are living had shut down the WiFi. This is the very first chance I’ve been able to get back in touch.

Thank you dearly for all your prayers and will wishes. Just Sayin…RJS

Atlantic Thread back is Greenback not the Gulf Sardine. Some people call Sardines but they are not.

I didn’t catch anything on squirrel, you are correct. Will never try again.
As they mentioned above in other some people say green backs are sardines. You say they’re not. That’s why I’m confused.

I’ve fished with strips of mullet and had some success.

Try live finger Mullet.

I got a deck in front of the seat so I can stand up to cast or fight and off the front of the deck I put in a rope and pvc 1step boarding step which works great for me. I tested it! The battery mounts on the right side of the seat instead of in the basket. I've also installed my depth sounder. This photo is when I pulled it to the lagoon with my electric bike. I gave up the bike tow and went with the trailer so I'm not so limited on launch places.

He was so excited. That cat was everywhere. It did not want to be caught but Felix fought him all the way to the dock. He did an amazing job.

My granddaughter wasn't much older when she caught her first legal Redfish. She keep saying help grandpa help! I told her she had to do it herself. She did and she was so proud and of course grandpa is still. She's 19 now and in college but still wets a line with grandpa.

I have lived in SW Fl for over 7 years. I have visited this area for many more. I have found there are different names to the live bait that are caught in cast nets.

White bait
Greenbacks
Sardines
Are these 3 baits the same fish just different names?

I’ve used pin fish and the newest live bait I used is squirrel fish.

Just trying to get some insight and knowledge on the different live baits used in my area.

Greenbacks are not Sardines and you missed an important bait fish finger Mullet. I bet you didn't catch anything on the Squirrel fish.

I fish middle and upper Tampa Bay, normally for Reds, Snook, Snapper, and Sheepshead. Seldom get a chance to wet a line, so when I go; I don't know the details IE: match the hatch size or good areas. Have not seen a post for this area yet.

I used to live in Oldsmar and fished the creeks that feed into north end of Tampa Bay. 2 years ago I took my Boston Whaler from Rt 60 up that way. Didn't catch a thing! Had to down to the bridge to catch a couple of catfish under the bridge. I now live in Clearwater just off Allen's Creek and sometimes go out into Tampa Bay with my inflatable pontoon boat with my trolling motor. It's a one person boat so I don't get into the Bay often. I do occasionally catch a Snook but more often catch Reds, Black Drum, Trout and of course Cats 😺 which I keep and eat and smoke.

Nice pics there Fin. Beautiful daughter. Glad you have someone watching out for you. Underwater pics of a scallop trip sounds very interesting! Good luck with everything.

Kandy I've taken underwater photos on different cruises before mostly of little to tropical fish eating bread out of our hands. None of which impressed me after seeing them. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder tho. As for my daughters beauty. It's not skin deep. It's not just skin deep, it's all the way thru! I wish I could claim it all but her mother must have had something to do with it too. I did raise her mostly by myself from from age 4 so I guess a lot of her character is mine. She is a very caring person but has strength as well.

Only got stuck once in a bunch of trips. Not as bad as a catfish stick but you definitely know you kicked one. It also helps if you’re less inebriated while searching for them. 😳😎🤣👍

Here scallops are in water 4 to 6' deep and in grass 2' tall so it's mask and fins for us.
Believe me I know about catfish. This was a glancing stab from the last one on my stringer.

Jeremy God willing you'll get to see them on the boat, bring shelled and fryed and I do have an underwater camera I hope to use too.

Kerry That not a story. It's true! I loved every minute of raising my kids and proud as a peacock of how they turned out. My daughter is across the state but she takes care of her old man. I have her listed with the VA as my spokes person. She calls the VA every time I have trouble and does the leg work to see which ever doctor I need. Just wish she was closer.
