On, just water snakes , but moccasins in the south are, according to my fishing buddy.
We were in a 12 ft jon boat and I saw a snake crawling up on the anchor rope. I nearly had a surprised heart attack. From then on, I keep a 4 ft cane with a built in 70k volt charger on the end, and pepper spray. Never ever thought it would happen. I was told to put moth balls on edges wrapped in gas. What a thought, but no deal. Any ideas for that while fishing.
throw the large, pregnant ones back in. That way, pond will stay stocked.
Hey, I left there in 1978, but it was good fishing. I caught carp and couldn't have had a better time ,and after finding blood vein, and soaking in vinegar. Just to name a few, it was ready for filleting and you know the rest of the story. I retired and live in Tn. We fished at dam too. Whats it like there now?
Yeah. Join him, its like a kid when you catch that first one. The best way is to just get a 4 foot rod...to 5ft and a $10 to 20 zebco 202 reel and put some line on it, a hook. Put on a nightcrawler. A artificial lure, or a minnow. Just go for it and have fun.
In Marion, Indiana, on the Missesawau River near Marion General hospital. Now, this was back in the 70's.
I learned by doing and watching old timers. For carp, anything from dough bait, mixed with molasses, corn flakes balls mixed with molasses, all on bottom of river. Then night crawlers on bottom of lake river, and ponds. For bass, any artificial lure . keep it jerking back and forth, up and down . Good luck.
