I had Hope that God would enlighten the minds to find a vaccine for our current crisis.

And that he did much sooner then those that said it wasn't possible.

Was it a miracle? Like previous miracles time will tell.

For me i am keeping the Faith.

AMEN. Good to see ya, PB..

Hope you are having a good weekend and maybe plans for memorial day of grilling out OR fishing.

I want to thank all the vets on here. No words can thank vets enough for the sacrifice and endurance of our troops. Happy memorial day.

The pictures here are (1) my Grandpa Bill Longley, (2) my dad Dennis Longley Sr, and (3) myself.

God bless our troops and veterans. And God bless you.

"This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.”
—Hebrews 6:19

On a day like any other day, you get out of bed, get dressed, have breakfast, and perhaps a cup of coffee. Maybe you check your emails (but hopefully you’ve read your Bible before that).

And then it happens. Out of the blue, you get that phone call from a police officer or from a friend delivering bad news. Or you find a note on the kitchen counter from your spouse saying they want out of the marriage.

Maybe you notice a new pain in your body that you hadn’t noticed before. Or you get or a call from your doctor’s office saying they want to do more tests.

A crisis hits fast, it hits hard, and it takes no prisoners. It can even alter the course of your life dramatically. For many of us affected by the pandemic, this is no overstatement.

Pain has knocked on your front door, moved in without your permission, and refuses to leave. In fact, you wouldn’t even wish it on your worst enemy, yet it’s happening to you. You’re not alone. It happened to men and women of the Bible and even Jesus Himself.

For example, Job’s world came crashing down on him in a single day. Joseph’s brothers betrayed him which changed the course of his life. And one of Jesus’ own friends even betrayed Him.

Maybe you feel as though you’re struggling against an unexpected, overpowering storm, and your little boat is starting to capsize. Maybe you’re even beginning to lose hope.

The Bible describes hope as an anchor: “This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary” (Hebrews 6:19 NLT).

We need this hope because I can tell you that when you’re going through a hardship, pious platitudes won’t help you. The thing that will help you is the Word of God. Be blessed today, walk in happiness and love, go in grace. God bless you.

Interesting, April 2 19 is what my user registration says. Not sure what the 19 means maybe 2019. But for 1980 i was contemplating getting out of the plumbing trade and going with the Gov doing what ever it took to get a steady job with no fear of layoffs.

Never thought the gov would lay people off. But then they back payed them anyway. Funny thing about the years of gov work. Here we are working with classified stuff and on snow days they say non essential stay home. What determines essential?

I guess the powers that be determines what "essential"..

Hey I just learned what a "plumbob" actually is about a month ago.. I just keep forgetting to tell ya. I was watching one of my survival shows and the guy was hanging trusses on a log cabin, and his friend held the plumbob up to make sure they're strait and level.. am I correct on that?

.. I originally thought it was because you was a plumber at one point, correct? Good play on words..

Hi Denny, Bob, Paul, and y’all.
It’s been raining nearly every day here for the past 2-3 weeks, but finally took a break yesterday, so I finally was able to use my brand new Hustler, 54” zero turn for the first time on my 3’ high (some of it) weeds! First time using a zero turn, but after about 30-45 minutes, the muscle memory seemed to take over and it was actually pretty fun - and fast. Had to mow most of it twice because it was so y’all. Glad I only mow about 2 acres!!
Denny: How was your time with the Pastor the other day, if you don’t mind me askin’.....
Been thinking about you and praying for you and your family. 🙏🏻

Good morning from Bay City, Michigan..

Rainy and cold here, high of 55° here right now and I think thats the peak of it. My joints are barkin' at me and I have high grass to mow. Wish the rain would stop so I can cut it, it looks like rain and cold all week.

Hows it going in your neck of the woods?

I feel Trisha's pain, but in time she will let it go to the point it still is in the back of her mind. Then something will spark it but don't let something like that control her life. Can't fix something that is permanently broken.

Amen. I believe time will help, this happened only a couple years back so its still fresh to her..

Mom was Jewish, Dad was Catholic, I was raised Methodist, I'm a mess. Anyway, as members of a church, I did a lot when the kids were little, and was told by one of "The Money Guys" that I should be doing more. I was teaching at a college at the time. The Preachers and the Money Guys decided to build a monument to themselves, hired an architect, came up with a set of plans. I was asked to look at the plans and comment at a meeting of the whole congregation. I studied the plans, and came up with a price of $2.4 million. At the meeting, I explained the cost, the percentage of the congregation that would go to other churches, and the amount of time to recover lost membership and other items. I was told that I was wrong on all counts, and that I could go elsewhere. They came up with a cost of $624,000. I was shunned and berated, and ultimately quit going to church at all. Faith is in your heart not in a religion. By the way, I hit it right on the nose.

I'm sorry the church failed you in that manner. There is NO condemnation in Christ, and if those "money guys" were all about money and religion then they don't know thee teachings of Jesus, and the fact that religion is what he despised in a way. Pharisee's way of thought was all about the law and that was their religion... Jesus did NOT agree with this and it resulted in death for Him.. ultimately ending the law altogether. If you were judged and treated poorly, CHANGE churches because that church obviously missed the mark by a long shot. Im sorry you don't wanna go to church any more because of your experience with selfish people, I would pray and look for another church that follows Christ. God bless and keep ya, brother.

PB, OZ, DD, and everyone else (too many to fit in one comment but wanted to comment to all), I hear what you're saying and its all great advice which I will hold onto.. wisdom is wisdom.

PB, I agree that you don't hold yourself accountable to a situation that was probably ALREADY planned out... he just executed his plan, effectively no doubt. Im sorry about your friend. Trisha's mother died by suicide, and from what she says it was a pretty selfish thing to do and to this day she blames herself.. she found her mother on the floor dead.
