So, are these for eating, catch and release like largemouth and smallmouth, or both? Look like a fun fish for light tackle as in 4 to 8 pound test lines and light rods.

I had the Rapala with built in scale, 2 years, then it got wet and that's all she wrote, everything is dead. Time for a new one. I only used it to weigh fish for clients, Other-wise we GET THE NET. The net is safer for fish and people. If looking to just grab a fish, I have gloves for that.

Sorry, but for a few of us that live in other parts of the country. I would like to see pictures of these fish. i'm
always interested in different species of fish being caught. Just in case i get a chance to go out to new places for fishing and sight-seeing. Wheeled ice-house in tow, with a kayak to paddle around and play with the fish.
I have fished in Canada, Cancun, Florida and even South Africa. I have a fishing guide service in Minnesota, mainly fishing Walleye, but also doing multi-species, Northern Pike to what-ever is willing to tighten the line.
Along with the fishing service, I provide taxidermy for fish, if you would like. Jiggin Jim fishing guide service,

In Minnesota many people call them Dogfish. They will put up a super fight, I have caught them using spinnerbaits, they will bend the cheaper spinnerbaits almost in knots.

Cheap pair of scissors, something that don't rust.

I have a line cutter on my favorite rod, it was called pro-cut. no messing around with clippers or scissors. Works great while wader fishing, I bought mine at a sports show in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As a fishing guide, it is nice even in the boat I can used it for changing lures for my clients. As I am holding my fishing rod, showing my clients how to jig for walleyes, bass and using other lures.
