Thanks Dryfly. I also occasionally fish the Everglades out of Chokoloskee. But I fish deep. Had a great day a few years ago and "landed" a 100 */- pound Jewfish on 20 pound mono. That's a Goliath Grouper for you politically correctors. Can't keep em cuz there protected. But got a good pic. I was born in Fla. and only moved to Woodstock Ga about 10 years ago. Love the seasons and cooler weather.

Are you kidding...I tell more Polock jokes than anyone. Why do polocks have no necks and flat foreheads???

When you ask them a question they just shrug their shoulders...when you give them the answer they slap themselves on the forehead! Ha!

In the doldrums of winter and unable to hit the lake, thought I would post a little "braggin Pic".

Despite having sporadic success fishing Lake Allatoona over the last several years (locals call it the dead sea for good reason) , I got lucky last April and scored with this beauty. Caught him on a small 3 inch Lucky Craft suspending crank. Nobody within a couple of miles had a scale. I guessed him around 8 to 9 Pounds. Too bad it wasn't a female. I eased him back in... no worse for the wear. Luck or skill? Even a blind squirrel...and all that!

Thanks CamT and everyone. For me the handle is sort of a badge of honor.

It is derived from my younger days when I was a quick tempered and "wild and crazy guy". Also being a descendant of Polish Immigrant Grandparents. My best friend dubbed me the "Mad Pole-ock" I just made it a little more Politically correct. He and I have been Hunting and fishing together for over 49 years. You might get a kick out of our stories in my book. "Jus Frammin"

Had to navigate by using Fishing Points on my phone. 4 miles an hour. But still ran onto a bar and had to back off. They draw the lake down this time of year.

Have enjoyed reading this forum for a few days and decided to join the fun. I am an "old Fart" too. 72 years young. Launched my Astro Bass yesterday at dawn only to find fog so thick you could eat it with a spoon. Cold too....mid thirties. I wasn't the only dummy out there. Several Crappie nuts were gearing up at the ramp. My enthusiasm waned, however after several hours of no bites and the wind got up. Oh well..."a bad day fishing"...and all that.
Looking forward to some like-minded discussions and lie-swapping.
