I love going out deep sea fishing and I deal with sea sickness pretty well, but I always feel horrible about an hour in because of the diesel smell. Any tips for overcoming or significantly cover it up?

When I was given the reel it was spooled with 250yds of cheap 150 pound braid (ik it’s so bad) I have been using that for awhile but it NEEDS to get replaced. What pound test brand of braid would you recommend? (FYI the beaches I fish are very rocky) I would like to spend under 60$ spooling it up.

Never heard of it happening before. Google wasn't any help. Does this ever happen fishing experts?

I'm in the North Bay California Coast and have been surf fishing with a jank 50 dollar rod and reel combo.
I'm looking to upgrade my surf fishing setup and want to know what reel I should get that can stand up to the sand/salt. I want to be able to wade into the ocean in chest high water and have the reel be okay if i crank it underwater.
I know Van Staals are supposed to be amazing but they are out of my budget. Is the Penn Spinfisher VI or Slammer III sealed well enough to withstand that? What about Daiwa or Shimano?

I fish frequently in a large somewhat pressured pond but this is my first winter fishing it. I’ve tried switching up my techniques to slower reel-ins and the usual recommended lures such as Jigs, Chatterbaits, and spinners but I’ve had no luck. Any general tips on winter fishing ?

I'm looking into the Spinfisher VI and i see there is a bail-less and a Long Cast version but no bail-less long cast version...
I like the concept of bail-less as it means one less part to get salt/sand in it, but i also like the idea of the long cast to get out past the waves.
What do you think is more important and why isn't there a bail-less long cast reel?

I'll start by saying I do have a casting reel on a different rod but I bought a new rod online. It's name was basically as many keywords relating to rods as possible and one of those was "spinning" and so I assumed it was for a spinning reel and bought one with it as it wasn't included. Surprise, they don't match. Not the biggest dilemma, but would it be so bad to use the casting rod with a spinning reel in this case? The sections of the rod basically rotate freely until it's fully extended so the spine and guides are pretty much always correctly oriented.

Buying a Lithium Iron Phosphate battery but I keep reading that they need a specific charger, one that outputs 14.4-14.6V. Also I read that if charged improperly they can be a bit of a fire hazard. With that said if you guys have a LiFePo4 battery what has your experience been with them and what charger do you recommend?

I have seen quite a few names popping up but I have zero experience and not sure if there is a brand that is better than the other.

I am looking for something with a foam split grip handle that is comparable in quality to a St. Croix Premier.

What would you use to catch river pike during the winter? The water is no deeper than 6ft and shallow as 5 inches.

I was fishing a 10 acre lake/pond and saw a large, shark-like grey dorsal fin breach the water. I am in central/east Texas and could not think of what it could be. It definitely wasn’t a carp, catfish, or gar. After researching I found that it looked very similar to a paddlefish’s dorsal fin. Is there any probable way that a paddlefish could wind up in a small, gated lake? I think it unlikely that somebody would purposely put a paddlefish there.

Finally found and purchased a set of stocking foot waders to fit me. I am 6’4” 280, size 14 boot, 34” inseam. However, now I’m struggling to find a pair of wading boots. Do wading boots come sized for your feet, or are they sized based on the size of the stocking foot of the wader? By that, do I need to find size 14 based on my actual shoe size, or would I need a size 16 to accommodate the stocking feet?

I'm so tired of my hooks and swivels jumping compartments in my tacklebox, what do you do to keep stuff organized when your tacklebox is on its side?
I have a few tackleboxes separated by water body type: ocean, lake, river, ... and I have this problem with all them. The dividers have gaps that allow the hooks and smaller tackle like swivels to jump compartments and get stuck on the divider between two compartments when i stuff the boxes in my backpack.
How is it that in 2021 we can't have tackle boxes that actually keep small hooks and stuff in place? This is madness.

The drag of my bc reel is not working suddenly. It wont give any line, no matter how hard you pull or how light you set the drag. When you turn the star, it goes from heavy on one end to light in the middle to heavy again, very weird. It casts perfectly and there are no other problems. The reel I am using is a Spro Hypalite BC.
Not sure what to do.
