Yep, every once in a while someone says that's "the money fish right there", so I guess I finally caught one of those "money fish" I have been hearing about all those years
Herrings got nervous… but we watched those stripers on the graph just come from the bottom… giving them a sniff…and went right back down to the bottom… spoons and umbrella Riggs saved the day…
Beautiful Fish! Congrats!
We at Lake Hartwell SC for a couple days... man this is some tough fishing... we’re marking fish on the graph, literally bouncing live bait and spoons off their noses... these fish have got lockjaw... anybody having any luck with stripers this week or got any suggestions... posted fish was the fish of the day... yikes!
I use both a 7’ and a 6’6” on a regular basis, you wouldn’t think 6” in length would make a difference but it for me it did, I can work some baits better on the 6’6”…
I was up at LKN an introduced a good friend to LKN spotted bass... that fish must of been in a circus in its previous life... it was quite the battle for a novice fisherman (2nd bass he’s ever caught in his life) as you can tell by his smile he was excited... at the end of the day he asked me when we were going again...
Hey, those are respectable Crappies and definitely worth a picture! Hey, you are out there fishing, not just writing about it! Congrats!
I used to live in Indy, that looks like one of my favorite spots on Eagle Creek Reservoir... what body of water are you on?
Charleston SC has it all! The guys at Haddrells Tackle can get you pointed in the right direction. Reds are plentiful and if you want to adventure out a little Capers is one of the closest reefs and productive.
Nice fish! Congratulations!
Looks like a good day on the lake! Nice fish!
Beautiful smallie... reminds me of the smallies my buddy and I caught on White River in Indy years ago... lots of fight and # for # a warrior of a game fish!
Like most everyone, I have caught many smaller fish including pan fish on 6 1/2' and 7' medium to heavy rods... there's really no reason you can't, it just kind of take's the fight and sport out of it if that's what your going for. Just a suggestion, if your not in a hurry, take a look on craigslist in your area, I see decent used rods that would work well for what you want to for $10
I have been using Shimano Reels for years... some of my favorites are 10+ years old and still as good as new!
