Welcome to Stage I just joined. I live in the Texarkana, TX area and have used yoyos tied to tree limbs for both catfish and crappie. Crappie we use minnows and for catfish we use Catfish Charlie 14 oz. Blood B Catfish Dough Bait. Roll the Catfish Charlie into about quarter size balls. I also use Catfish Charlie for noodles I have made myself. Whitey is on point to use bluegills for flatheads or large minnows. I've had good luck with hot dogs for channel cats.
I did check the Oklahoma Fishing regs these are legal at this time., which you check before using any of these techniques in case they change from year to year. Have fun!!

Thanks folks I will definitely keep y'all post on my experiences. I work at Merritt Trading post on Merritt Reservoir in Nebraska several years ago and would pass on my tips to folks coming to fish. I always tried to give honest fishing reports.

I don't know if you have found so places to fish around Texarkana, Ark. or not but here are a couple of places to try.
The Fairgrounds a few years ago drained the lake out there and restocked it with catfish, there may be other fish in there I don't know.
Millwood lake offers some excellent fishing below the dam. Especially when they are letting water out. I have seen some monster cats pulled out. Flatheads and Channel in the 20 to 30lb weight.
Not sure if you have a boat or not.

Hope you had a good night of fishing at Wright Patman. I have caught catfish fishing from the bank at Piney Point boat ramp. Fish just on the other side of the ramp and dock. I honestly can't remember the time of year maybe spawning??. If fishing from a boat and have sonar or look at a map and you can see where the channel turns at the dam, I have had good luck. I have set noodles out and had a hard time keeping up. I guess I was about 50 yards from the dam wall.
Hope this helps. Let me know how you do.

IHello everyone,
I am a anything fisherman that's biting. I love to catch white/hybrid bass, catfish and bluegills, (generic name).
I just bought a 16ft pontoon to get back into fishing. Been about 7 years since I've been fishing. I have fished mainly Wright Patman but love to fish Dequeen, Gillham and Dierks lakes in Arkansas. Fished Millwood, actually the river mostly. Have run yoyo's on Millwood for crappie and catfish. But too many gators so I mainly fish till the water temp puts them in hibernation, fall and winter. Not limited to any lake to explore. I record all my sonar from my Lowrance.
If I'm catching anything I am always ready to share any techniques or bait I use.
I look forward to reading y'all's post.
Have a great day of fishing.
