I really enjoyed that article and find a lot of it follows my success as well. And a lot of other techniques that I am going to try.
I have tried to find smaller streams, not by fishing them but by asking others, where smallmouth are found. You mention that they are found in smaller streams in the area. Is there somewhere in the Idaho Panhandle or the Inland Empire for that matter, that has them in smaller streams.

FnF great article! Do you, or anyone else here know of any smaller streams or rivers in the Inland Empire area that have smallies.

Tnx Tom; Some of the smaller flowing bodies of water in the NW that have Smallies are the Kettle River, and the lower stretches of the Little Spokane river in Washington, and in Idaho you can find them in the Priest River, Pack River and Coeur D'alene rivers. The Priest has some great Smallie fishing all the way up to the lake. These are what I meant by larger streams. I don't know of any small streams with any Smallmouth.

As far as techniques go, my Drop Ned rig that I invented is by far and away my favorite producer. What's great about it is it's so simple just tie on a #1/0 EWG worm hook with your best dropshot knot, then tie a Ned head under it about 8 to 12" down. Put a Turd worm on each hook and you have a fish catching machine. Many times you will catch 2 bass at once on this rig.

Thanks, those are what I meant as small streams. I wondered about the Little Spokane it seemed like they would be there. I have caught them at the Mud Hole in Priest River. I asked on here about the Kettle R but no one seemed to know if they were in there. Again thanks for the info on the smaller rivers.
