Hi, I'm from the Leesburg area in Florida near the Harris chain of lakes, have had some pretty good luck on targeting large mouth bass, but still would like more Information (since I'm originally from upstate New York ) on locations on these lakes, like were to go, what's the best type of lure for what time of the year etc. I found out bass fishing is alot different down here , than it was back home, its like starting all over.
This was my largest fish so far, caught last year on lake Eustice Flordia. Weight was 5 1/2 pounds.

Welcome to the Stage Viper. Beautiful Bass! We have a member who lives there, Richey. If he doesn't see your post, you can send him a Private Message, asking for some tips. Good Luck and Tight Lines.
Welcome Viper, I’m from South Jersey and been fishing in Florida several times. You are right, Florida bass are not as aggressive as our Northern strain so it’s a slightly different game. Good luck and your fortunate to be down there trying to figure it out.
Welcome Viper, Richie here. I live in Leesburg on Lake Griffin. All of the Harris chain is good. I fish Griffin mostly because of convenience.
PM me with contact info and I will be happy to meet and talk fishing.
I can sympathize with you on that. I moved here to Leesburg 8 months, right on Griffin. Had a house on a lake in the Adirondacks and fished bass there all the time. This lake is spanking me bad. Can’t figure it out….
Last year's Bass master classic (the pros)
First place catch was from Griffin.
Have better luck in the summer, to many tournaments during the fall and wiinter, fished all of the Harris chain ,to much pressure on these fish because of this haven't hit a spawning season yet! The only thing I can tell you now that's it summer use a June bug color worm on a 18 Inch monophilment leader seems to work well this time of the year! Good luck.
hello viper. Also look up info for "headwaters lake" florida.several thousand acres and it's catch and release only. Speed limit is 25 mph. You can find videos on you tube;
i fish Crappie, but thought i would say hello as i too am on the Harris Chain. I am off the Lake Beauclair on the canal. i regularly fish Dora, Beauclair, Lake Carlton
