9/29/23 Had a good morning even tho it was misty rain and very breezy. I forgot about my limit and put 20 perch in the bucket. I tried three different ways to catch them. Jerry's little spinner bait, Gulp Minnows, and spot strips. Jerry's spinner bait caught way more then the others. Even out fished the spot strips. Well where I fish they are still in shallow water. Most fish caught in 2 or 3 feet of water.

Nice catching Andy, but where's the green bucket?

I've been catching and eating the yellow bass that I told you about.
If I drive about 100 miles east I can POSSIBLY catch some white perch, They are in the Savannah river chain of reservoirs...that 's A LOTTA Water to deal with.

100 miles for white perch not worth it. In my opinion.

Rob, Most of my life we lived on or close to water. The long drives, That is what makes you all hard core fishermen.

As long as you didn't kick it Andy, resting is a good thing

Speaking of long drives one bit of experienced advice here.

Stop every so often and stretch.

2 weeks ago I did my return from NC fishing for a week which entailed 6 1/2 hours non stop. You know how it is when we men get behind the wheel. Get there before the next guy mentality.

Next morning the sciatica said: I wasn't going anywhere without pain.

I stop once on that run to NC, usually around Exit 104 in Va for fuel and to let the pups out. We're looking for a place near The OBX. We've pretty much given up on hunting a place on The Eastern Shore. We've had 3 places sold out from under us so the realtors there can shove it. I'm moving back home, I've had enough of Md.

I know exactly where you stop, either the Flying J or the Gulf station on the south bound side. Usually I stop just there on both directions because gas is cheaper at either. Flying J has fantastic cinnamon buns and pizza isn't have bad either.

This trip I was in that get home mentality and of course had to beat the traffic. Lane closures on a Sunday I wasn't prepared for and much rather travel that route at night. However not meant to be but lesson learned for the next one.

We travel down at night and back during the day. We stop at the Gulf station, they're usually 2-3 cents cheaper.
