I'm not saying they are not a good reel, as I don't know anything about them. They do look nice. I will check them out more thoroughly before I buy anything though.

Keeping in mind that for $60 you can try the Lux and if you don't think it lives up to the hype send it on back. Can't beat trying risk free

I ordered a Japanese version of the Stella from a Japanese distributor, the nicest reel I've ever used, lost it in a casting mishap in 160 feet of water (truly funny story), Daiwa makes a reel

I bought some different budget reels from Amazon looking for sleepers, high bearing counts and stellar reviews being the focus...

I got a Cadence Lux 2000 last year to go with a higher end Cadence pole, it's a high tech pole that feels like something costing hundreds more. The Lux reel has 9+ 1 bearings and an off the chart 36lb drag system...these are Stella smooth, no exaggeration for under $60

I went ahead and tried the even higher end Primo that has 12+ 1 bearings that is $90 or so and it is incredible for the money, it actually would be incredible for hundreds more.

I've had Japanese version Stella reels that listed at $800+, I'm telling you I cannot tell the difference, they feel unbelievably smooth in all regards, including the way the bail snaps when you cast.

I agree. I have several. I just got a Cadence Ideal 1000. Love that they are not only smooth but have a high gear ratio 6.2:1.

I tried three or four brands of cheap reels figuring it was worth looking for one that is going the extra mile, they weren't bad but didn't feel like they would hold up through a few years, the Cadence reels stand apart...I don't know about their cheaper ones, but the higher end really stands apart, they make some very nice rods too. It gets you into high end feeling rods and reels at really good prices.
