We're back from our very short fishing trip. We got to fish just a little bit on the lake. We were guests so I was not in charge of the boat. My BIL prefered the whole lake tour over fishing, and everything goes his way. My sister kept reminding him we wanted to try a little fishing. Finally we tried two spots, one of my choosing and one of his. We got nothing. When we got back to the dock Cassie caught the only fish of the day using a piece of hot dog.

Obviously your brother-in-law isn't much of a fisherman, eh Ed? Glad to see Cassie got the skunk off the trip, even if it was on the dock. Bluegill on hotdogs, who knew? Thanks for sharing buddy.

Glad Cassie got a fish to keep the skunk away. When I take people out for a cruise and they ask which I'm going so slow. I tell them I'm trolling

Sorry about that for you Ed. Hard to believe your BIL has a place on a lake and doesn't fish it. Don't make sense to me. Hats off to your wife!

They have a pontoon. He does fish but mostly when guests want to fish. He doesn't go out just to fish. He's an odd bird, dodo. Terribly rude boat driver. Drives right by people anchored and fishing to ask if they're catching anything. Not anymore. He doesn't know basic boating rules.
My other sister was there also but won't go out on the boat with him anymore.

I suggested Cassie and I can take out the pontoon on our own to fish. Nope. He won't let anyone else take out the boat even tho I was taking my dad's fishing boat out out when I was 12. The last 20 years I rent a pontoon when me and the kids get up to NW Wisconsin to fish. But I can't be trusted with his boat.

I'm going to look into fishing boat rentals and maybe my real fishing partners, daughter and her friend , will give it a try. Won't even tell my sister we're there.

Good for you Ed. He sounds like a jerk to me. That's a darned shame you'll have to rent a boat, but you and Cassie can get out there and catch fish and it's nobody's business.

That's too bad, Ed. Such a missed opportunity.
