I had always wondered if they all had lived. When computers came out we bought one. One day I was sitting around and I began thinking about that night. Then I thought maybe they have a website. All I knew was they were from the 5th/7th Cav. I typed in 5/7 Cav and it went to their website. I asked the webmaster if he knew if Connie Pearson had made it back alive. I told him we were the Helicopter crew that rescued them in an ambush. I told him his Btn. Commander was loaded on our ship and his left leg had been blown off just above his knee cap. He said he'd check it out and get back to me. About a week later I got email messages from Connie and his wife Sue. They said they'd been thinking about me all those years. He gave me his phone number and the rest is history. Thanks for letting me share Steve.

That an amazing story Kieth. The computer is a wonderful invention in alot of ways. Glad you were able to reconnect with him for the last part of his life.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us.

You're welcome saw. I'll see if I can find their email to me. I never deleted it and never would. Thanks again.

Hack I've been reading all this and I'm glad you got to see your buddy. I'm sure it was a great day when you got together with him. I remember as a young boy coming back from Florida with my family and my dad's parents. We stopped in Alabama in a small town an then stopped at a nice farm/ranch in the country and seen my dad hug a man I have never seen before. Probably the first time I saw my father cry. His Army buddy. Dad didn't talk about that kind of thing. As tears run down my face I just want to say thank y'all for your service to this great country 🇺🇲

Very neat flick---probably never have a chance to witness this one…absolutely awesome.

The moon, seen from the Arctic Circle, between Russia and Canada. It only lasts a few seconds, but it's worth seeing. It's a spectacular sight. Imagine that you are in a location between Canada and Russia and suddenly and for just 30 seconds, the moon appears in all its splendor and disappears before your eyes. It looks like the moon is going to collide with the earth. Even more impressive AND for just 5 seconds, a total eclipse of the sun takes place. It's unprecedented and spectacular!

The video was shot in REAL-TIME. The phenomenon happens at the “perigee”: the closest point of a heavenly body’s orbit around the Earth, where the proximity of the moon is so evident that, suddenly, we realize the great speed at which the Earth is moving. This effect is only visible once a year and lasts for just 30 seconds… Astronomers figured out those exact 30 seconds and had the cameras rolling. Fortunately, they had a clear sky. Amazing! Watch this happen on the video. Total sun eclipse is ONLY 5 seconds.

This doesn’t last long but it’s one of the neatest things I’ve ever seen. I wish I could have seen it live.

Thanks so much Whitey. Military buddies are a great bunch of guys. I'm in contact with several pilots I flew with. When I think about Connie and his wife Sue I get teary eyed every time. I miss talking with them. Anyway, thanks for sharing your remembrance of your dad.

I'm sorry Gravey, but the video is a fake. It was made in Ukraine. The author was good at what he did, and he fooled a lot of people.
