Due to the states perceived shortage of flounder in NC, the season this year is for two whole weeks, and 1 fish per day. Just saw the front page of a newspaper and now there are claims of a shortage in blue crabs.
So here come the restrictions.

How many flounders to the netters get to keep Rg? I remember well that's where a lot of the take was from not so much the recreational fishers.

I think they count gill netting in Recreational limits also.

I read that the southern body of fish is extremely depleted and that the commercial boats are targeting the body of fish off of New York. And even that body of fish is being depleted. Next they’ll be over fishing the last large body of summer flounder ( fluke) up off the New England coast.

I really think that with my rod and reel in hand and 1day of fishing that the fish are going to bite so good that I will deplete the fish population.
Actually they want you to go to the fish market and buy what they catch.
So everyone should just throw all of their rod and reels away.

That's why it's called recreational fishing, you catch the fish, take a picture, release the fish and then go buy the same species that you just put back in the water

Yeah, we gotta eat, and fishermen have to eat too financially. With all the pollution in waters, most likely will see all inshore fish outlawed for eating soon. I have quit eating inshore fish over 40 years ago, especially shellfish, and bottom feeders at first, now all. Same with freshwater fish too, started with catfish, now all of them.
