Guess I’ll never know what it’s like to use one of those. I’m too cheap for spend that much on something that you stand a good chance of losing on the first cast

I hear that buddy. That would be my luck for sure.

They're all from different makers Martin, they're real. The biggest ones are even more expensive.
I've got very good rods that cost less those lures! No way would I spend that for a lure!

They're basically geared towards the people looking to catch 15+ pound bass on artificials. They don't want to use giant Golden Shiners to catch them. I don't blame the anglers, but the lure companies for taking advantage of them.

Be like Mike, make your own for pennies. Only people with more dollars than sense would pay that.

Discount tackle megabass I-slide 187R Intermediate for only $59.99. Heck might as well get 2 of these baby's 🤪. I see nothing special here and in no way am I paying no where near that for a plastic lure or whatever it's made of. Free worms and minnows for me 👍
A sucker is born every minute and I don't mean the fish.
I have a hard time spending $15 to 18 for lure I'm going to lose. 🙃

I am with you brother, to me the price of lures have gotten way out of hand. But they keep making them so people must be buying them. Just not this kid.
I once googled "most expensive fishing lure", a few years back......jeeesh !
A company in Japan has some in the $350-$550 range ! Had a link to a video to see the construction process. Another was out of Europe, forget what country, and theirs were $200-$450.
Certainly they were life-like looking, but at that price the only effort that I should have to exert should be.... "pay for the lure, toss it in the water, sit down on the bank and wait for the lure to bring you a fish.....period.

So if the rationale behind marketing a lure for $500 is that it'll catch you more fish than say a $10 lure, then, unless my math is off, the $500 lure should catch you 50x more fish as the $10 lure. Last I saw, the guys on the pro circuit who need to load their bag with beaucoup fish were using pretty much the same lures you and I do.
I kinda think that anyone that would spend that much money on a lure is either so very rich that it doesn't even register how ridiculously priced it is (like some women who have a closet full of $900 shoes) or they are the kind who simply want to brag to their buddies...."Yeti cooler logic"...hehehe.
My tackle boxes are full of winners and I refuse to pay more than MAYBE $12-$15 at most for a lure.....most are under $5-$7. I buy at pawn shops, Wish.com (have 11 Whopper Ploppers that totaled $29 for all !), close-out bins, and of course, yard sales.
But then, lots of folks are shelling out $60++ for a truck or car, while I have less than $25k invested in total, for my F250 4x4, a fine Subaru Forester and my sweet little AudiTT ragtop. I also have a rather large collection of clothing (like two dozen+ "fishing shirts" & another 25-30 polar fleece vests and jackets from Columbia, REI, LLBean, etc.) that mostly came from Goodwill. Just gotta shop hard & frequently and always inspect to the max.
To each, his own.
