Lake Pend Oreille report:

Walleye: there has been an increase in anglers pulling in walleye. My experience is they are hitting pretty good on Flicker Shad like baits in 15 feet of water. Crawler harnesses are also productive.
The Clark Fork river and her delta are pulling out fish on the regular

Small Mouth: tons of fish in the 2 to 3# range. Drop shots and Ned's. Caught my LPO PB this year at 5.9#

Pike: everywhere. dead bait, spoons, swim baits. They aren't picky. Recent angler caught a 23# fish from the Sandpoint City Beach.

Crappie: they have turned on again and it's not uncommon to catch a 15+" fish. Typically crappie gear works great, but for the slabs, grab your favorite Ned rig.

Kokanee: the dead sea. Kokanee are really tough this year. No reports of any positive numbers. You really have to work to get your limit. You might pick up a shaker bow or westie, which is nice.

Kamloops: fall is around the corner and anglers will be hitting the lake in search of a trophy Gerard. Bucktails off planer boards is tradition. Apex and plugs are also good go-tos

White fish: these are the most underrated and forgot about fish in the lake. They are the largest biomass in the system and schools are literally miles long. Suspend jigging. Hand lining with maggots and glow hooks. Even trolling with wedding rings has picked up fish.

Good Luck!

C K: Back in the day when we lived just a little south of East Hope, we would launch in Ellisport Bay in the
early AM and slow cruse over to Maiden Rock. There is a small picnic area there but no facilities. The depth
of trolling would be one pole at about 20' to 25', the other a little deeper using only lead weights to get the
plugs down. At that time we used what was called "Point Specials", which were a round lure with a cut back
from the eye. They were painted red and white. At that time you had to get into the 20" range to even make
it to the qualifying stage. Best we ever do was to 19.5". But then that's fish'en. If you happen to go over to Maiden Rock you better take everything along with you as there are no facilities there. I always took an extra battery with me just to be on the safe side. We would stay overnight and slow troll back the next day. Hard to miss the beauty of the lake and the Monarch Mts. Hope this helps some and good luck.

At my agility and age I think Idaho is out .
For around 30 yr. every year I hunted and fished the east fork Salmon. But I still can read about Idaho fishing.
