All I can say Bonnie is good luck and welcome aboard. Plenty of members over on the west coast to help you out.

Never really worked the area but found some good reading about it:

Hi Bonnie, my wife and I are both originally from Yucaipa. We fish Mammoth area 3-4 times a year. There are hundreds of good places to fish in the area. When we take the grandkids we usually fish Lake Mary or George from the shore and do very well with quality trout. The Bait and Tackel store in town are very friendly and always have the latest info on where and how.

Hey there l'm Paul Fish and l live in Redlands also and have been having some luck at Diamond Valley Reservoir over by Hemet. There's a great large blue gill fishery going on and the large mouth bass are getting better. I caught 3 over 4 lbs last Friday.
But the big news is that the striper bite is getting very good. I know of several fish over 15 lbs caught in the last 2 weeks pulling plugs and feathers.
The blue gills run up to over 2 lbs and are a hoot to catch.
Nice have not fished at the reservoir…will have to go over there…
