Hi all new to this. Been fishing for a couple years but lately I've had a hard time finding a good spot to fish that's not to far to walk not to far from worcester. It's been either contaminated, to weedy or I'm just reeling in crappies one after another. Looking to catch something bigger than crappies perch and blue fin.(aren't we all!) Any leads are appreciated! Thanks a bunch!

Neppyz : My apologies on both counts. A thousand pardons, please.🤭.
Anyhow, I've only fished MA around the CT border, so I'm in no position to help out with
locations, but expect you'll get some tips from local Stagers soon.
BTW, Welcome to the Stage, Nice to have ya.
Try Dark Brook Reservoir in Auburn. Grew up there and can attest to some excellent largemouth. I believe there's a boat launch ramp on West St. Lots of weeds but a couple of good spots right at the Mass Pike underpass. On the western shore, there's a relatively small cove that abuts the Mass Pike - fishing from the cove along the shoreline back toward the Mass Pike underpass should produce as well as the underpass itself and the area as you head North and East as you exit the underpass. Island to the North may also produce. Not "treacherous" but relatively shallow - BE CAREFUL!
Well thank you! Oh well that's not to far!
Thank you! Yes I was just saying I nwanted to fish there I know exactly where your talking about but I had thought it was closed due to bacteria turns out the boat ramp and swimming is just not aloud.
Try Lake Chauncy in Northboro, Wachusett Res., Sudbury Reservoir in Southboro/Marlboro. Hope they're not to far from Worcester.
Bell pond, in Worcester, has monster fish in it. Small pond. Big fish.
My first largemouth catch was over 4 lbs.
wear waders, you can walk the whole shoreline.
Clean lake, great fishing.
Also, the wachusett reservoir. Fish very early if using lures. Or, very late.
It’s a great smallmouth fishery.
My PB, from wachusett, was a 5 lb 8 oz, smallmouth. 26+”. A true pig.
But, caught on live bait. It works best there.
The Thomas basin area holds nice fish.
