My usually short day Wednesday. And I got a dink shortly after hitting the water . SSE wind today blowing in some rain and cooler weather๐ก๏ธ๐ก๏ธ๐ฅด. I worked a few areas and missed about a two pounder. Then made a change of area. I positioned myself between the creek channel coming out of the pads fairly close to the open water and a small recess of open water. I'd been casting a bunch and was thinking of which way to head next.
Then 10' from the boat this giant comes completely out of the water after my brown frog and the only thing between me and her was one big lily pad. . I didn't feel the hit so I think she just missed it completely and me being patient and cool and collected swung for the Stars and buried the hooks in that lilly pad stem . So much for a quick follow up cast.
This bass was every bit 24" and I can't even begin to tell how much it would have weighed? But I'm quite confident it would have been a PB.
I spent some time casting to this area but to no avail. I had 4 or 5 hit close to the yac today but when I tried to duplicate that movement farther out during my retrieve nothing.
I was running close to time to leave and the rain moved in so back to the launch. I did a few quick casts and nailed a 2+#er and a few minutes later a 4.2#er had to go now for sure.
Seems every Wed when it's time to go they start hitting ๐. Anyway a good morning even with that big son-of-a-gun scaring the Bejesus out of me๐ญ. That's how frogn' goes in the dense pads 4 for the day. ๐ค๐ธ๐ธ๐ธ๐ธ๐ธ๐ธ๐บ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ

That's a Heartbreaker Andy. Don't worry, she'll be around next time you get out there. Overall a great day anyway, thanks for the pictures.
Good one my friend. At least now you know where she lives.

Really nice "catching" day Andy, with a couple of nice ones thrown in. Too bad about the hog, you will get him next time me thinks.

Andy, that potential PB would've been more of a heartbreak had you secured a hookset but ended with a break off like the big'n that broke off last month. According to the cube law (Weight (in pounds) = (Length^3) / 800), that 24 incher would've been between 8 - 10 lbs.! Did she have any girth? You could've easily broken into double digit land! You'll get her Andy!
