I agree whole heartily. I "brought back to life" a 1983 Lund American that was headed to the salvage yard. It has been a very rewarding "rescue" as I am approached by others to look at the old boat at the ramp.
There are several local places that salvage outboards. Also eBay has a lot of used stuff for outboards, outdrives and inboard motors.
There are more boat manufactures in this world than there are auto manufactures only difference boat manufacture go out of business. However drive train always have parts.
