Well we got to the launch bout 0630 and started fishin bout 0700. However, we didn't catch our first dish till bout 0710, after we started trollin. No fish castin today.
We continued to catch small fish for the first 6 fish or so then we landed a 22 incher so we put it in the box.
Fished pretty hard and only had 9 or10 fish by noon and no others we wanted to keep. We had caught a couple that were bout 18 inches but we didn't want to keep them.
Bout 1pm we decided to take a long run down to the mouth of the river so the guys could see more of what the Pet offers down there.
On the way back we stopped and started trollin the lower river and caught a few small ones and then another 22 incher so we had 2 in the well now.
We continued to fish till bout 230pm and decided to call it a day.
We only landed 16 fish today and just kept the two 22 inchers.
We did miss a half dozen or more hits but that's fishin, not catchin.
Just the 1 pic of them before the fillet board.

Yep, that's a fact.
Most people would think that's ALOT. Unless you've experienced what we quite often do.
Your old board has the same stripes as the fish. Guess we could call that a fish tattoo from many laid on the board before.

LOL. Never really looked at it that way but you're right.
Good job Steve. We got off the water around 1:00 with nothing in the last hour or so. You did better than we did with just two keepers under 20ā and a total of 9 between the two of us. Glad I finally got to meet you face to face

Hey Ken. Yes it was good to meet you also.
We might have caught more fish had we continued to troll back over the places we caught fish. But they were so small we decided to just continue goin down river.
It got so slow around noonish I took the guys down river to Black Point and then out into the bay a little.
We did pick up our second 22 inch fish on the lower river so it wasn't really a waste to go down there. Plus they got to see the lower river.
There were a couple of nice holes on the east side between the RXR tracks and the electrical towers in the bullhead days.

Alright. That was before my time out here, but good to know.
By the way. The FF wouldn't work any better on the water than in your driveway.šš

Yep, that's for sure.
However, I just sold my boat this afternoon. The old adage "The happiest days of a boat owner is the day he buys it and the day he sells it." certainly doesn't apply to me.
When they drove off with the boat I nearly cried.
I understand that I needed to sell the boat before we move to Tahoe but it was very hard to say goodbye to my boat.
It's served me well for 16+ years and never let me down. I could just about count on 1 hand the times I've been skunked out of my boat. Literally 1000s of fish over the years.
However, I'm so thankful I got to take so many different guys from the stage out on it. And I believe everyone has caught fish when we went out.
Probly won't be able to get a boat till we move to Brentwood. Hopefully by next fall.
Well, it's time for a new chapter in my life without a boat but it's all good. The Lord provided that boat and also this buyer. I'm positive He will provide me with another boat when the time is right.
Thank You Lord for all the many blessings you give me EVERY day. Amen.šš
