It’s my understanding the nets are out Su, Mo, Tu, hence the closure for recreational fishing/non-native American fishing.

My understanding is the same on the nets that they are out on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Not to blame anyone, but what has happened to the Steelhead run in the Puyallup. Many years ago, the Puyallup was consistently the number 3 producing river for Steelhead in the state. Now there is not even a Steelhead season on the Puyallup. I used to love fishing the Puyallup for Steelhead back in the 70's and 80's. Mismanagement by State and Tribal Fisheries Managers?

The fish are IN!

Four pinks in less than an hour Friday.
Three pinks and a coho in an hour Saturday, and I saw one lucky angler land a ~20lbs hatchery chinook.

The salmon are definitely in on the puyallup river!! My wife and I fished their Sat evening (6:00-8:30) and I stopped counting after 15-16 pinks. Myself I don’t target any pinks but you have to weed through them as the river was loaded with pinks sat night. I ended up catching 2 nice n chrome hatchery chinooks. First one (9 lbs) was about a half hour after we got there and the second one (17.5 lbs) was at 8:30. My wife did an awesome job netting both of them. On thurs evening I caught a jack coho (18 inches) and a whole mess of pinks as well. My wife did talk me into putting a few pinks on the stringer sat night. She caught 2 really bright pinks and both of them were good size for pinks. In the evening on the puyallup, it is way less chaotic/combat than the morning…(complete shit show) just FYI. I hope this helps anybody thinking bout heading down to the Puyallup.

Also about the puyallup river closures, the river is closed for fishing Sun, Mon and Tues until Aug 30th. After Aug 30th, the river is closed on Sun and Mon.
