Thats the name I know them by. I remember them from cod fishing. Little buggers would strip the bait off the hook on the way down in 200 feet of water. By the time it got to the bottom there was no bait for the cod.the

I got a letter in the mail a few weeks ago from her 8yo brother. It said “Thank you for teaching me to fish in the ocean. I had fun even if we didn’t catch anything”. 🥰. That trip was last summer. The point being: yes, the memories last.

Yes. She usually doesn’t eat fish but she does when we catch them. Last summer the whole family (all six kids plus mom and dad) went to the local lake. I took a camp stove and filleted and cooked the bass and bluegills as they caught them. As for being a fishing partner, that’s become a full time job for me. We go one kid at a time. I don’t want to have to pay attention to more than one while driving the boat. Too much current and traffic to pay attention to. If another adult rides, I’ll take two. Which two depends on how well they get along with each other, so usually one at a time is best. Plus, they don’t have to share Opa (me) that way😊. Did you see the letter her older brother wrote me? It is a little ways up in this thread.

Last summer I had taken one of the kids out to the pond. Fished and cooked them in the back of the truck. I think I posted that last year. Anyway, Mom sent me a video of 3yo. He had gone out to the garage and put on his life jacket and was running around the house saying (Fishing Opa. Fishing Opa.)💕
