Has anyone fished Big Lake recently? We will be there mid August and I fear that it may be too late in the summer to see good results.

Not the best time of the year recommendations fish early and then late afternoon. Go deep unless you see them rising. Often thunderstorms in the afternoon
The water level is good in Big Lake but the fish is real slow what time of years will we have a lot of rain I would recommend a tent

Why black crappie?
Is there a difference in size, taste or aggression?
I know there’s a bit of coloration difference and an additional dorsal spine or two on one over the other. Just curious. 🤔

Any more news on Big lake? Heading up with the wife on Aug 10th for the weekend, Also anyone know how wet it is around big lake?
I stopped at Big Lake on August 1st. The area wasn't wet at all on that day but near ShowLow they had some heavy rain which isn't far off. According to the kids working the boat rental fishing had been slow. Water level was good.
