Does anyone have any experience with these lights? Do they work?
Why is there over a $100 spread in cost? Are some much better?

we have two different lights. they both do the job and work great for bringing in fish. the price spread is probably the difference in wattage and the actual size of the tube. (we have an 18" and a 28")

I tried using green light and didn't work for me.

If the water isn't perfectly clear, then the light fades quickly. In my conditions, I got maybe a radius of 15ft. And maybe 30ft out the light wasn't even visible at all.

I initially expected the light to be visible from far away and attract fish from all over to get to my spot. But in practice it didn't work out that way.

So I returned the light.

Others might have different experience, but the light just didn't do what I expected to do for me.

I have 2 of the hydro-glo lights...I have found at Lake Powell in Utah,Super clear water they work great.Put them in and within 30 mins there are literally thousands of shad circleing the light, then the stripers show up and its game on....Ive tried it in lakes that werent so clear, and it seems the bait cant find the light in the dirty water, no bait,no game fish!

Makes sense to me. The clearer the water the better they should work.

I use a common lantern on a small home made floating raft. Works fabulously.

I have one in my florida canal. Water is a bit stained so the light is not as bright. But they work. The light attract bugs which attracts baitfish, which attracts predators. Just ask the tarpon, snook, snappers, catfish and baitfish I get . It’s like an aquarium.
