Easiest way to learn is keep trying new thjngs., and watch someone who catches lots of fish.
Lot of small mouth bass, cold water so not a lot of large mouth. Google small mouth fishing. Good luck
I fish the Dahlonega side or north end of Lanier. I started back fishing about six years ago. Almost always come home with supper now fishing north Georgia waters. A great help to me was using youtube to learn baits and how to target fish. Also I met a guy who is an experienced fisherman that has helped me a lot. Don't give up or get discouraged, just keep on fishing.

Welcome aboard ALH. They gave you some good advice to don't give up. Water might be a bit warm so try in some deeper waters.

Look up Gene Jensen (Flukemaster) on You Tube. He'll teach you everything you need to know.
Thanks for the advice, I know Lanier is a hard lake to learn. My experience is with 5-10 acre lakes on private lands. What bait is best for crappie in Lanier?
The hardest part about Lanier is the idiots that don't care about you and will run you over. My go to baits are live minnows and Bobby Garland jigs on a 1/16 or 1/32 Oz jig head. Generally it's jigs but as always it depends on weather and time of day. Best of luck to you.
Thanks, I need to get a better minnows bucket that will keep them alive longer. These 1 gallon buckets are a joke even with a bubbler.
