I have seen this advertised on TV for as long as I can remember. Now with rattle and some kind of wing thing. I have found parts of the kits in several garage sale tackleboxes. They are often the punchline of jokes. The only actual lure I found was taken over by my young grandson and never saw the water. For some reason, kids love them.
Has anyone ever actually used them with any success? Has anyone found them good enough to reorder? That being said, they are an incredible success in the merchandise marketing world. I can not even remember when they first showed up on TV. I think they are older than Bill Dance if that is possible.
I don’t remember the Mighty Bite, but have used lures like those, but without the blades and rattles, etc. My Son caught his first keeper walleye with one a few years ago.

Not sure if they work. Cool toys for kids and us. I ordered a batch of a different type once from 12-1am tv ad. It was called the Banjo Minnow I think. I wasn’t in prime Bass water when I tried it a month or 3 later but I think if the fish were present or in the mood I probably could have caught some. Good Luck no matter what BEAR…

I fell for, and have yet to catch any fish on a Banjo Minnow over 20 years ago (I actually bought them for the kids to try). I will admit that I haven’t really given them a chance but will try to this year!
Well you know most fishing tackle is made to catch fisherMEN and not fish. I fish with a guy that takes some hooks, extra leader, extra bobber, some weights (shot), a gig tail or two when we fish for specks. We take live shrimp for bait. He catches as many as I do and my box is much bigger.

I felt silly after I had them and figured oh boy they got me. Yeah it was about sand time frame.
Why,why, why!!! Why does the Banjo Minnow get so much bad reviews and laughs? And for all you guys who bought it, did you really give it a chance like all the other lures you bought? Let's face facts. You probably bought it with a negative attitude and fished it with a negative attitude. Especially if your fishing partner was laughing at you right from the start. Am I right? I was the one doing the laughing at my partner years ago when it first came out and he showed it to me in the boat. I am sure you know who was laughing at the end of that day! He kicked my butt big time. And continued to do so one trip after another. I finally gave in and joined him, but not with a Banjo Minnow. Being a cheapskate, I was not about to spend $39.99 plus $9.99 shipping. Looking at the setup I realized that I had most of the components that came with the kit. All I needed to get was the corkscrew type device that screwed into the minnows nose and the little rubber bands that stretch over the hook to make it weedless. The first one was available at most fishing supply places and the rubber bands were curtesy of a dentist. The bands are used for kids braces and since my buddy had a sister who worked for one it was a done deal. You have to ask yourself why the Banjo is still sold today. If it was a scam or worthless, would it still be around today? If you look at the videos online it is very clear the basic concept is really good. When you fish a plastic minnow shaped lure and you put the hook or jig into the body what does that do? It takes away a lot of the motion that lure should have. If you look at the Banjo, it is a better setup simply because the minnow has freedom to wiggle and dance around. And one last thing. The way that the rubber band goes from the hook eye to underneath the barb is a great weedless rig that keeps the weeds off of it and doesn't interfere with the hookset.

I bought some. Ordered 1 regular kit, and 1 trophy kit. They sent me 2 kits each, and charged me for them. I told customer service 1 trophy kit was missing 12 rattles, and he told me I have to buy another kit for that. Since I bought them on my debit card I did a charge back with my bank, and kept the lures, and their money. I priced the rattles at amozon they were .03 cents a piece at the time, and I think I had to buy 100 at the time

More important, did you catch fish with them?
