Google the name of the pier they might have a camera on line and you can watch the action on the pier live , and can see for yourself the best time to fish and if you watch long enough the best time of year to fish . Just a thought .

My experience on Bogue and Oceanana is go before sunrise, or fish in the PM after 5. Bogue pier posts a report on their website once a week, Oceanana is on facebook. I have not been fishing at either pier in a while, but usually get something. If you are inexperienced, pay CLOSE attention to fishermen who are catching. Good luck.
