I'm YouTube watching old video of a young Mike Tyson and everyone says, They gonna whip him 🤣 Mike must of had the God of Thunder's Hammer., I know he's messed up but maybe you wanna step in the ring to straighten him out?

No doubt he was a troubled young man but actually turned out to be a decent human being. Personally in his prime I think he was the greatest heavyweight ever. I remember pay per view fights. $50 be over in 45 seconds!

JD, Would you consider him in his prime when he fought Buster Douglas ? I was shocked. Big factor in that bout : Douglas did not have any fear. Just went out there and beat him up......

He wouldn't have lost that first fight if he had Keven (I think that was his first trainer) instead of a new corner who said when interviewed before the fight that they were "Learning" as they go!

Kerry, once Cus D'amato was gone, Tysons days of learning ( & self discipline) were pretty much over.
BTW, Have you seen the interview he gave ( its on YouTube) where he discusses how well he would have fared against Muhammad Ali? ( If they were both 21 years old ). He sez Ali would have handled him easily. I agree. I do recognize Tysons incredible abilities, his ring movement made him a really difficult target, and his angles that he launched his punches from had a lot of variety and accuracy. And power...His double left hooks first to the body, then the head followed up by a right uppercut, were truly a thing of beauty. I've often wondered how much the prison layoff really hurt his career. He richly deserved to be jailed, a boxer beating up a 100 lb. woman ! Loved the wars, except for the ear bite, that he had with Evander. What a chin that Holyfield had ! I've been a boxing fan since the Gillette Friday night TV boxing in the 1950's, and I boxed at the local Boys Club as a kid , & in the USMC, as a young adult. I was pretty lousy at it, but not for lack of effort.

Thanx PAAZ : without Cus, Kevin Rooney just couldn't get the respect that he needed.
