I went to O'neill Forebay yesterday and was told that I couldn't launch my boat due to it being a per-1999 2 cycle. Very disappointing to me as it's been a great place to fish when I used to have an inflatable with trolling motor. Plus I got up at 4:00am and drove 99 miles! UGH!
Just wondering. Thanks

Yea sucks but new California law is not allowing any two cycle motors being used on boats , weedwackers etc. and diesel motors are being phased out within next 7 years that’s why big rigs are going electric. So if you see a sweet deal on 2stroke anything don’t buy it. Cops have not started ticketing them yet.

Are u saying that my 2 stroke motor on my boat is now totally illegal in California. Does this pertain to the bay , delta, and the rivers( Napa & Petaluma) or the many fresh water lakes that still allow them? Can u provide info where I can find and read this new law? Can’t find it! The cops are coming, really?

As of January two stroke motors are not permitted on any lakes. As for bay I imagine better safe than sorry the law has not been enforced yet.

Do you mean this coming January? Just fished both lake Berryessa and lake Sonoma with my 2 stroke motor. No restrictions. Where can I find this new law? U say that it has not been enforced as yet. very confusing. Can’t find such law on the Fish&Game website nor the air resources board website. The ARB website clearly states that there are no current , pending, or upcoming laws in the state that bans 2 stoke motors for boating in lakes and waterways in the state. Yes there are lakes that ban them. These are mostly lakes that are designated as drinking water reservoirs and usually owned and operated by water utility districts and are banned by their discretion, not by law!

Well say Hi to Italy 🇮🇹 for me.
I have never been there .
My family over there were Marble carvers .
My grandfather came over with his parents when he was just born from Italy. Was raised in Vermont and headed to California as a young man. Never met my great grandfather or grandmother ¹¹
Have a great trip and a safe journey.
