Cranberry lake again

Took my sister and my nephew out to Cranberry lake today. The fishing is starting to slow down from what it was, but my nephew was able to catch a 22” rainbow. It was really fun watching him trying to get that fish in. I knew it was a big one with the amount of line it was taking out, took awhile to even get a look at it. Trout of a lifetime for him perhaps.

Looks like a great catch for your youngster Don. I have a daughter in Oak Harbor and a grandson who has never caught a fish so it’s nice to know that if and when I get up there that there is a place to go.

That is a very nice fish! He should be proud. Good job taking him fishing. I'm glad for him. Both, for catching that fish and for him having someone like you in his life.

I was there two days ago. Saw three or four rainbow trout caught during the two hours I was there. I caught two perch that were too small to keep. In a couple of days (crabbing season starts on July1), I will be going across the road from the lake to the pier at Cornet Bay, and do some crabbing for ,hopefully, dungeons crab. Umm, good eating ahead!
