I was reading you can make money catching them as they are considered invasive. Is that still the case in California? I’ve read some tagged fish can be worth$500

Caught occasionally in the Kings River in Fresno County CA. 75 years ago. Many names. Squaw, Sacramento Pike etc

I don't believe it's a pike minnow, looks like the minnows that were sold when I was a kid. They were replaced by golden shiners. They stopped selling regular shiners because they were becoming a problem in some waters. The thought was golden shiners wouldn't reproduce. The regular shiners were better bait.

Yes,absolutely a pike minnow. Have caught them that Big in the Merced river over the past 40 yrs.
